The Gujarat Titans host the struggling Mumbai Indians at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 20 in Match 30 of the 2026 Indian Premier League.

The Titans have won three games in a row after starting their campaign with two losses. Their bowling attack has found the balance from last season, contributing efficiently in all phases of the innings. Prasidh Krishna once more finds himself in the wickets leaderboards, while the resurgent Rashid Khan dominates the middle-overs. Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada were brilliant with the new ball in their last game against the Kolkata Knight Riders, while the blistering pace of rookie Ashok Sharma has kept everyone on their toes.

Perhaps what is most promising, though, is the form of their big guns with the bat. Shubman Gill has scored half-centuries in all three of the Titans’ wins, while Jos Buttler looked his belligerent best in his half-centuries against Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants.

Mumbai Indians, meanwhile, are in a deep rut. After breaking the jinx of not having won their opening match in 13 years, they now sit low in the bottom half of the table, with four back-to-back losses. Jasprit Bumrah has been wicketless in the five games despite bowling economically. Their bowling attack has been taken for runs aplenty, having struggled to pick up wickets and control games with the ball.

Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma have both been unable to register runs, with just one half-century among the pair. Quinton de Kock, in his return in blue-and-gold, scored an unbeaten 112 against the Punjab Kings after being carded in to replace Rohit Sharma, who was nursing a hamstring injury.

The Tians come into this clash looking for their fourth win on the bounce as they hope to solidify their bid for a playoff spot. The five-time champions are in dire need of getting their campaign back on track, and while there is a historic precedent of them recovering from this kind of position, the road ahead looks difficult for MI.

Pitch Report: Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

The Narendra Modi Stadium has been synonymous with batting first victories, but over the last few years has also favoured chasing teams on occasions. The black soil wicket tends to slow down as the game progresses, helping bowlers in the second innings execute their plans. The wicket has been conducive to hit-the-deck bowling, and offers grip for the spinners on occasions. Seamers get lateral movement in both innings. The slower outfield, combined with the larger dimensions, helps the bowlers defend scores.
