The Rajasthan Royals (RR) are set to face the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Match No. 3 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on March 30 at the Baraspara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.

Rajasthan Royals had a disappointing campaign in IPL 2025, finishing ninth in the standings. The inaugural champions from 2008 will be eager to rediscover their form and make a strong comeback this season. With a refreshed squad that includes the addition of Ravindra Jadeja, RR will aim to improve their performance and push for their second IPL title.

On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings endured a tough IPL 2025 season, finishing at the bottom of the points table. Despite being one of the most successful franchises in IPL history with five titles, CSK will be looking to bounce back this year. However, they will miss the services of legendary captain MS Dhoni, who has been ruled out for two weeks due to a calf strain. Meanwhile, Sanju Samson, a recent trade, is expected to take on wicketkeeping responsibilities.

Both teams will be keen to put last season’s disappointments behind them and begin their IPL 2026 campaign on a positive note.

Pitch Report: Baraspara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati

The Baraspara Cricket Stadium generally favours teams bowling first, making chasing a more comfortable option under lights due to the dew factor. The average first-innings score typically hovers around 150-160, suggesting that batting conditions remain fairly good throughout both innings. However, bowlers will need to be precise with their line and length, as any inconsistency is likely to be punished on this surface.
