The Gujarat Titans take on the Rajasthan Royals in Match 9 of the 2026 Indian Premier League at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The Titans are coming into this clash on the back of a narrow three-wicket loss to the Punjab Kings at the New PCA Stadium in Mullanpur. Batting first, the Titans were restricted to 162/6 in their 20 overs. Shubman Gill top-scored with 39, while Jos Buttler, who did not look at his best, managed 38.

Defending the paltry total, Punjab’s Cooper Connolly and Prabhsimran Singh looked to be cruising with the chase before a defiant bowling display in the back end, led by Prasidh Krishna, who picked up three wickets, pulled the Kings back. Connolly maintained his composure and guided the Punjab-based franchise to victory.

The Rajasthan Royals are coming on the back of a dominant win against the Chennai Super Kings. They bowled out the five-time champions for 127 on a Guwahati pitch that had enough for the bowlers due to rain. Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger ran riot in the powerplay, with Sandeep Sharma picking up another wicket to leave CSK four-down at the end of six overs. Ravindra Jadeja then picked up two wickets in his first over on his return to the Royals, leaving CSK in trouble. An easy clear-up followed, despite Jamie Overton’s valiant 43 taking the innings to the last over.

Rajasthan effortlessly completed the chase. Starboy Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored a half-century off just 15 balls, the third-fastest in the league. This set the Royals with a platform for the chase, which they completed with 41 balls to spare. Yashasvi Jaiswal, playing mostly as an anchor, finished unbeaten on 38.

The Titans will be looking to get their campaign off the mark in front of their home fans, while the Royals will be looking to carry forward the momentum of their first win.
