Delhi Capitals (DC) will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 27 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, in the Indian Premier League 2026.

Delhi Capitals are currently placed sixth on the points table, with three wins from seven matches. They are coming off a heavy defeat against Punjab Kings and will be keen to bounce back strongly to register their fourth win of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been in impressive form, sitting second with five wins from seven games. They secured a convincing victory over Gujarat Titans in their previous outing and will aim to continue that momentum.

Here are the potential impact players for both teams in Match 39:

Sameer Rizvi has been a valuable find for Delhi Capitals, delivering two match-winning knocks as an Impact Substitute earlier in the tournament. However, his form has dipped in recent games, and the team will be hoping for a return to his impactful best.

Auqib Nabi, the Jammu & Kashmir pacer, entered the tournament on the back of an impressive domestic season and was signed for a significant sum. Despite the promise, he has yet to make a notable impact in the opportunities he has received so far.

Karun Nair, an experienced domestic campaigner, showed glimpses of form in 2025. He was used as an Impact Substitute against Royal Challengers Bengaluru but couldn’t convert his chance into a meaningful contribution.

Ashutosh Sharma, known for his power-hitting abilities, impressed with his aggressive finishing in IPL 2025. However, he is yet to get consistent opportunities in the playing XI this season to showcase his full potential.

Vipraj Nigam is a promising leg-spinner who can play a key role during the middle overs. His ability to support the main spin attack and pick up crucial wickets could be valuable for the team’s bowling strategy.

Jacob Bethell impressed during IPL 2025 and has featured in one game so far in the 2026 season in the absence of Phil Salt. He could once again be used as an Impact Substitute for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, potentially opening the innings.

Jordan Cox, a talented wicketkeeper-batter, is regarded as one of England’s most exciting T20 prospects. However, he is yet to make his debut for RCB this season.

Mangesh Yadav, a highly-rated left-arm seamer, was signed for a significant fee in the 2026 Mini Auction. Despite his potential, he has not yet been given an opportunity to feature for the franchise.

Devdutt Padikkal has been a key Impact Substitute option for RCB and has delivered impressive performances with the bat. He will look to continue his good form and make another meaningful contribution.

Venkatesh Iyer, a powerful all-rounder, made his debut for the defending champions as an Impact player against Rajasthan Royals. However, with a settled batting lineup, he is yet to secure a consistent role in the team.

Expert opinions and strategies:

Home Advantage: Delhi Capitals may have lost their previous game at Arun Jaitley Stadium, but playing at home still gives them familiarity with the conditions, which could work in their favour in this clash.

Recent Form: In the last five meetings between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, DC have won three matches, while RCB have claimed two victories.

Balanced Side: Royal Challengers Bengaluru appear to be one of the most well-balanced teams in the tournament, with strength across all departments. In contrast, Delhi Capitals are still working on finding their ideal combination and consistency.

Final Prediction: Given their current form and overall balance, Royal Challengers Bengaluru enter this contest as slight favourites.
