Match 8 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) sees the Delhi Capitals (DC) lock horns with the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the historic Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Saturday, April 4. The afternoon game is the first of two matches set to be played in the IPL on Saturday.
DC won their opening game of the new season in a convincing fashion against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Uttar Pradesh. Their outstanding bowling lineup restricted LSG to just 141, with the team from the capital city chasing the total down with six wickets in hand.Â
MI, on the other hand, also won their opening game in a dominating fashion, beating the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on home soil by six wickets. The five-time champions chased down 221 at the Wankhede Stadium after they were set up brilliantly by their openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton, who put on a 148-run partnership.
The game on Saturday afternoon is expected to be a closely fought encounter between two sides that have well-balanced squads at their disposal. DC’s in-form bowling unit will face off against MI’s hard-hitting batting department, while a Jasprit Bumrah-led bowling attack will battle against exciting T20 batters like KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs, amongst others.
