
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have announced New Zealandās explosive wicketkeeper batter, Tim Seifert, as the temporary replacement for Jacob Bethell. The young England star is set to return to England for national duties after their upcoming Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) clash. Bethell is in the England squad for their upcoming home ODI and T20I series against West Indies, set to begin from 29 May to 10 June.

Who is Tim Seifert, and at what price will he join RCB?
Tim Seifert has already played 66 T20Is for the Kiwis, scoring 1540 runs in 63 innings at a strike rate of 142.85, including 10 fifties. Earlier, he was once a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) but did not manage a single game. Now, with RCB, it will be interesting to see if he is handed a debut. He is joining RCB for INR 2 Crore.
Bethell has played two matches so far in the IPL 2025, where he has scored 67 runs, including one fifty, at an average of 33.50 and with a strike rate of 171.79. RCB have already qualified for the playoffs, and with two more league-stage matches to go, their aim will be to finish within the top two spots for an opportunity to play Qualifier One. RCB are in the second spot currently, with 17 points in 12 games and a net run rate of +0.482. RCBās next clash is against SRH on 23 May in Lucknow.
