Gujarat Titans became the first team to resume training after India and Pakistan reached an ‘understanding’ on Sunday, May 11. The Shubman Gill-led side sprang into action on Sunday (May 11) evening at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

GT sit at the top of the table as far as IPL 2025 (Indian Premier League) is concerned, having won eight of their 11 games so far. They possess a net run rate of +0.793 and have won four of their last five matches. It is understood that franchises have been instructed by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) and the Governing Council of the IPL to gather their team members for the final 16 games (including the four playoff fixtures), which are likely to get underway on Friday, May 16. Furthermore, the entire GT squad, barring Jos Buttler and Gerald Coetzee, was part of the training session.

“Yes, we have started training. The boys looked sharp, and we are ready to go. Our entire squad stuck around. Only Jos and Gerald, but they will come back as required,” stated an official of GT, as quoted by The Times of India.

Gujarat Titans dominate IPL 2025 charts

Notably, Gujarat have been in top form this season. As things stand, they have three batters—Sai Sudharsan, Gill, and Buttler—among the top five run-getters of the season. In the race for the Purple Cap, Prasidh Krishna leads the charge with 20 wickets in 11 games at a noteworthy economy rate of 7.65. Mohammed Siraj (15 wickets in 11 games) and Sai Kishore (14 wickets in 11 games) have provided valuable support to the tall pacer.

According to the pre-existing schedule for the remaining 12 league phase fixtures, Ahmedabad is slated to host three matches. Lucknow and Bengaluru will serve as venues for two matches each, while Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Jaipur have been assigned one game apiece. The revised fixture list is yet to be released by the BCCI.
