Gujarat Titans (GT) will have an opportunity to make the most of their excellent chances of finishing in the top two of the IPL 2025 (Indian Premier League) points table, facingĀ Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This match will mark the last league-stage game for both teams.

Having qualified for the playoffs with two matches in hand, Gujarat’s excellent odds of making it into the top two received a dent with their loss to Lucknow in Ahmedabad in their previous match. Mitchell Marsh’s century and Nicholas Pooran’s quickfire fifty gave LSG a total that looked safe at halftime. They were proven right. In what can only be called unprecedented events, GT’s top three only got starts but never actually kicked on. Their middle order tried to push on, but LSG’s bowlers, led by William O’Rourke, came back at the death to prevent GT from running away with the game.

CSK, too, went down in their last game and are all set to finish last this year, regardless of the result of their upcoming game. As has been the case throughout the season, Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brevis were the only ones to make a significant contribution with the bat against RR in Delhi. Shivam Dube got a start, but Akash Madhwal struck back at the death to restrict CSK.

RR didn’t have too much trouble chasing their target down. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi got a great start, with the latter completing his fifty. With most of the work done, Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel put in the finishing touches.

Player Battles to Watch Out For in Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings, Match 67:

1. Shubman Gill vs Khaleel AhmedĀ

Pacer Khaleel Ahmedā€˜s bowling, especially during the field restrictions, has been one of the positives for CSK in this year’s IPL.Ā Shubman Gill will be wary of squaring up to him, considering that the left-armer has managed to trouble the GT skipper. So far in the IPL, Gill has made 44 runs in 29 balls against Khaleel at a strike rate of 151.72, while being dismissed twice at an average of 22.

2. Shivam Dube vs Rashid Khan

All rounder Shivam Dube has been off-colour this season but has still managed to put the spinners away. Against the Afghan leg spinner Rashid Khan in the IPL, Dube has managed 28 runs in 18 balls at a strike rate of 155.55, while being dismissed once.Ā
