Jake Fraser-McGurk has opted not to continue in the remainder of IPL 2025 due to personal reasons. In six games played so far, the batter has scored 55 runs for DC. Hence, Delhi Capitals (DC) have signed Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman for the remainder of the season.

Last year, he was part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise. In 57 IPL games, Rahman has taken a total of 61 wickets. For Bangladesh, Mustafizur has played 106 T20Is, where he has taken 132 wickets so far.

Marking his return after two years, DC posted a welcome message for Rahman on their X account: ā€œMustafizur Rahman is back in Delhi Capitals after two years! He replaces Jake Fraser-McGurk, who is unavailable for the rest of the season.ā€

How much did DC pay for Mustafizur Rahman?

DC have paid ₹6 crore for his services. The IPL 2025 is set to resume on 17 May, and DC are currently in fifth spot with 13 points from 11 games. Delhi have three upcoming matches scheduled for this month. Their first match is on May 18 against the Gujarat Titans, followed by Mumbai Indians on May 21 and Punjab Kings on May 24.

In an exclusive interaction with Cricbuzz, the Bangladesh Cricket Board stated that no request for a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) has been received for Mustafizur as yet. He is currently part of the Bangladesh squad that is set to depart for the UAE later this evening, where they are scheduled to play the hosts in two T20Is on May 17 and 19.

ā€œI can’t say (whether Mustafiz will join Delhi Capitals),ā€ BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury told Cricbuzz. ā€œHe is with the team (flying to UAE), no? We haven’t got any decision (joining Delhi Capitals) in this regard yet.ā€
