Shashank Singh held onto an impressive catch at deep point to get bring about the wicket of Rishabh Pant during Match 54 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League between Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday, May 4. Pant’s 17-ball 18-run knock came to an end with this.

Azmatullah Omarzai angled the delivery across the southpaw. Pant, aiming to batter the ball to the on-side, ended up losing the grip of his bat, which ended up going to the square leg region. The ball was sliced towards the offside. Shashank made the catch look simple by pouching the ball comfortably. The ball was coming at a decent pace towards the middle-order batter.

PBKS ultimately ended up clinching a 37-run win against the Pant-led side. Prabhsimran Singh (91 off 48) ended up securing the Player of the Match award for his scintillating innings. Arshdeep Singh starred with the ball. The left-arm seamer scalped three wickets in his four-over quota.

With this victory, the Shreyas Iyer-led side ended up ascending to the second posiiton on the points table. Two of their next three group-stage fixtures will be played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. They will be aiming to maximise their outings at home to potentially seal a top two spot going into the playoffs.
