IPL 2025
IPL 2025 (PC: IPL/BCCI)

The IPL 2025 is currently suspended for one week, as stated by the BCCI, due to the ongoing war-like tensions between India and Pakistan. However, according to a report by ESPNcricinfo, if the tournament restarts in May, the BCCI has shortlisted three southern cities — Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai — to host the remaining 12 matches, three playoffs, and the big final.

Originally, the final and the second qualifier of IPL 2025 were set to be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, while Hyderabad was scheduled to host the first qualifier and the eliminator.

One of the most challenging tasks for the BCCI will be getting the foreign players back if the tournament does restart in May. When the league was declared suspended for one week, many players began their journey to their next destination, and by Saturday, most of the foreign players are expected to have left India.

The Suspended PBKS vs DC Clash Is Reportedly Set to Be Replayed

The franchises are hoping that the foreign players will return once the IPL resumes, but they also understand that it might not be possible for all of them to come back, as many have commitments with their national teams for bilateral tournaments and the World Test Championship final, which starts on June 11 at Lord’s.

Reports have also stated that the suspended PBKS vs DC clash will be replayed once the league resumes. After just 10.1 overs of action, the match was suspended in Dharamsala. The outcome of this clash is crucial in the context of the competition, especially for the teams still in contention for the playoffs.
