Lionel Messi has sent a message to the Argentina fans ahead of his farewell match. The 39-year-old will be leading the national team against Benin in an international friendly today, October 6.
In a video posted on social media by Adidas, Messi thanked the fans for their support over the last two decades. He added that he was delighted to be leaving the national team in peace despite the FIFA World Cup final loss to Spain and said:
