Aryna Sabalenka has delivered an unfiltered reaction to dismiss criticism directed at tennis players for being active on social media. According to Sabalenka, players competing at tennis’ highest level spend only a fraction of their time on social media and devote the majority of their time to training.
During her pre-tournament press conference ahead of the 2026 China Open in Beijing, the former No. 1 was asked if players’ performances and results are affected negatively because of their social media presence. Dismissing the suggestion, Sabalenka opined that most players who are active on social media spend around 30 minutes on average daily using various platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, Threads and TikTok.
