CNN Portugal journalist Rui Santos has heaped praise on Cristiano Ronaldo amid calls for the veteran to be benched for Portugal. Santos believes that the Al-Nassr superstar can still influence games, as he showed in the Nations League win over Germany.
Speaking on CNN Portugal, Santos claimed that fans were not appreciating Ronaldo enough recently, even as he was getting closer to calling it quits. He believes that no player will be able to reach the heights of the Portuguese superstar and said (via Infocul):
Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winner for Portugal in the 2-1 UEFA Nations League semifinal win over Germany. They face Spain on Sunday, June 8, after the EURO 2024 winners defeated France in their semifinal.
Football pundit Jorge D’Alessandro, on El Chiringuito in May, claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo should leave the Saudi Pro League. He urged the Portuguese superstar to make a surprise move to Boca Juniors and get the Argentine fans to support him. He said (via GOAL):
Cristiano Ronaldo is in the final days of his contract at Al-Nassr. He has not penned a new deal but reports suggest he was close to a renewal with the Middle Eastern club.
