The Australian cricketer Alyssa Healy expressed her admiration for Indian batter KL Rahul and admitted that she wished he were part of the Australian team. The Bengaluru-born cricketer and Mitchell Starc are currently representing the Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise in the IPL 2025.

The 35-year-old revealed that the wicketkeeper-batter is one of the quietest individuals she has ever met. She even asked the left-arm pacer if Rahul would fit into the Australian dressing room, and he responded with a ā€˜probably’.

ā€œYou know what? spending a little bit of time around this group, like KL Rahul is like the quietest person that I’ve ever met,ā€ said Healy in the Willow Talk podcast on the LISTNR Sport YouTube channel.

The podcast host highlighted the Indian cricketer’s calmness amidst chaos in the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) and suggested that he would be a valuable addition to the team.

ā€œYeah. He’s just like the most cool, calm, collected dude you’ve ever met. Like lovely, and I feel like he’d just be sitting in the corner of the SCG just waiting to go out there and bat and do his thing for Australia. So, he’d be a nice asset to have,ā€ said the host.

ā€œLike I was watching I was at the SCG test and watching his demeanor when all that was going on with that was the day that garbage was going on with Virat and the crowd and you know, Virat was just playing to the crowd and bit on the line. KL looked like the calmest dude in the whole stadium,ā€ he added.

The right-handed batter commended the 33-year-old’s composed approach and noted that he sticks to a distinct batting routine and brings a team first priority in front of him.

ā€œIt seems like it’s less about him like he’s got a really distinct routine and takes a little while to set up when he’s batting and I’ve watched it live. But it feels like there’s less fuss around him. It’s like a little bit less about him and more about the team which I think could fit in more to the Australian way of thinking. So, that’s just my opinion,ā€ she concluded.
