Former Atletico Madrid coach Jorge D’Alessandro has hit out at Lionel Messi for his comments on James Rodriguez. He claimed that the comments and reactions were not justifiable and that he should know when to move on from things.
Speaking on El Chiringuito, D’Alessandro said Messi was one of the greatest of all time and should not be hitting out at players for their comments. He believes that the Argentine should know how to rise above the others.
He said via Madrid-Barcelona:
Lionel Messi’s Argentina managed to get a draw against Colombia in the FIFA World Cup qualifier this week. The Inter Miami star was unable to get on the scoresheet, and their goal came after he was substituted off during the second half.
Lionel Messi was unhappy with James Rodriguez’s old comments after Argentina won the Copa America. The Colombian star claimed in the media that referees were helping the World Champions win matches and were biased.
Messi was waiting for his opportunity to question the former Real Madrid star and reportedly said:
The former Everton man has refused to comment on the situation and stated that whatever happens on the pitch will remain there. The media quizzed the Colombian, but he was not interested in continuing the issue and put an end to it.
