Hardik Pandya entered the record books after bowling the joint longest over in the Indian Premier League during the Mumbai Indians versus Gujarat Titans match at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday. With a light drizzle and heavy winds at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai making matters difficult for both sets of players, Hardik lost control of the ball a couple of times and then overstepped as well.
Hardik bowled 11 deliveries in the 8th over, equalling an unwanted record previously set by Tushar Deshpande, and Shardul Thakur. In that over, the captain gave away 18 runs.
Hardik bowled three wides and two no balls in the over.
The over may have also helped the turn around the game, as they crossed the par score with light rain making both teams keep an eye on the Duckworth Lewis System par score.
