Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) beat Gujarat Titans (GT) by 33 runs in the 64th match of IPL 2025 in Ahmedabad on May 23.

Marsh and Pooran’s Knock
Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram gave a fantastic start to LSG, putting on a partnership of 91 runs. But the main partnership of the innings was stitched together by Marsh and Nicholas Pooran. They came together in the 10th over and added 121 runs off just 52 balls. Marsh scored a brilliant knock of 117 off 64 balls at a strike rate of 182.81, including 10 fours and eight sixes. Pooran scored 56 runs off 27 balls at a strike rate 207.41, hitting four fours and five sixes. This partnership was instrumental in LSG reaching 235/2 in their 20 overs.
Shahrukh Khan and Rutherford’s Fight
GT batters got starts, but none could capitalise on them. Only Shahrukh Khan looked solid, and his partnership with Sherfane Rutherford gave some hope to GT fans. While they were at the crease, there were genuine chances of a GT comeback. They put together 86 runs off just 40 balls. Shahrukh scored 57 off just 29 balls at a strike rate of 196.55, turning out to be the highest scorer for GT.
William O’Rourke’s three-wicket spell
O’Rourke displayed some excellent bowling. He first took the crucial wicket of Sai Sudharsan, who is having a dream season. Then he dismissed Rutherford, who was looking dangerous, and finally removed Rahul Tewatia, known for his big-hitting abilities. O’Rourke finished with impressive figures of 3/27 from his four overs.
