In today’s high-voltage IPL clash between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Narendra Modi Stadium, GT won the toss and opted to bowl first. However, Mitchell Marsh lit up the stadium, and the decision backfired as LSG posted a massive total of 235 runs for the loss of just two wickets. The credit for the huge score goes to the Australian all-rounder.

Marsh was the standout performer of the innings. He played a superb knock, scoring 117 runs off just 64 balls, including 10 boundaries and eight sixes. He batted with great confidence, attacking the bowlers from the outset. His strike rate was an impressive 182.81. Today’s innings also marked LSG’s highest total of the season.

Mitchell Marsh now has 560 runs from 12 innings in IPL 2025.

Marsh received solid support from Aiden Markram, who contributed 36 runs off 24 balls at a strike rate of 150.00. After Markram’s dismissal, Nicholas Pooran joined Marsh at the crease. Pooran played a quick and explosive innings, remaining unbeaten on 56 off 27 balls, with four boundaries and five sixes, striking at 207.40.

Together, Marsh and Pooran built a massive partnership for the third wicket. Marsh was eventually dismissed for 117, caught by Sherfane Rutherford off Arshad Khan in the 19th over. LSG skipper Rishabh Pant then provided the finishing touches, scoring 16 runs off just 6 balls, including two sixes, at a strike rate of 266.66.

GT’s bowlers endured a difficult outing. Arshad Khan, Sai Kishore, and Rashid Khan claimed a wicket each, but all were expensive.
