The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku and General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo, are in Miami, Florida, attending the 2025 FIFA Executive Football Summit.

The high-level event is taking place at the Grand Beach Hotel Surfside and brings together the leadership of FIFA and senior football officials from around the world for strategic discussions on the future of global football.

The summit serves as a key platform for dialogue among FIFA officials, representatives from the six continental confederations, and member association leaders.

The gathering focuses on shaping global football policies and fostering collaboration to drive the game’s development at all levels.

Among the central topics of discussion are the FIFA Connect registration platform, Women’s Football Development, and the expansion of the FIFA Women’s World Cup from 32 to 48 teams beginning in 2031.

Delegates are also engaging in in-depth discussions on youth football development initiatives for both boys and girls, the FIFA Series 2026, and major infrastructure projects such as the FIFA Arena initiative, which aims to construct at least 1,000 mini-pitches in communities around the world.

A significant highlight of the summit was a presentation by FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development, Arsène Wenger. He led an insightful session on the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS), outlining strategies and upcoming programmes dedicated to nurturing young football talent globally.

The summit also featured interactive sessions, where Presidents and General Secretaries of Football Associations had the opportunity to provide feedback, share best practices, and contribute ideas aimed at advancing the global football ecosystem.

The knowledge and networks gained are expected to positively influence Ghana’s football development strategies, particularly in areas of youth engagement, women’s football, football IT advancement, and grassroots infrastructure.

FIFA President Infantino opened the Summit, stating the enormous gains made so far under the vision and the plans to further develop all areas of football, especially Women’s football and youth talent identification and development across the ecosystem to make football truly global.
