General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo (Esq.) represented the Ghana Football Association at the launch of the Ghana Olympic Committee’s (GOC) 2025-2029 Strategic Plan on Thursday, January 8, 2026. The plan aims to strengthen sports development in Ghana, focusing on athletes, governance, funding, and partnerships to make the country a competitive force in African and global sports.

The launch at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Accra brought together sports federations, stakeholders, and enthusiasts. GOC President Richard Akpokavie, Esq., said the committee is committed to putting athletes at the center of all activities and providing federations with the tools to succeed.

“This plan provides a clear roadmap for advancing sports development in Ghana. We are not just aiming for medals; we are building a system where every athlete succeeds, and every federation thrives,” he said.

Prosper Harrison Addo praised the plan, stating it is the surest way to push Ghana Sports to another level. Other key attendees included the Board Chairman of the National Sports Authority, Dr. Fred Awaah, who commended the GOC for integrating science into sports and highlighting sports’ contribution to national development, employment, and economic growth.

“Many people see sports only as entertainment. But it drives jobs, boosts the economy, and strengthens the nation,” Dr. Awaah said.
