The second edition of the Free Licence D Coaching Course for Colts club coaches has officially commenced in the Volta Region. The week-long training programme is being held at the Youth Resource Centre in Ho, with sessions led by GFA Coaches Instructor, Mr. Burton Asare.

This initiative forms part of the GFA’s nationwide agenda to build the technical capacity of grassroots coaches, particularly those working with juvenile (Colts) clubs. The course offers a combination of theoretical and practical lessons, focusing on the fundamentals of football coaching, child development, injury prevention, and the core principles of grassroots football.

Mr. Burton Asare, a highly respected instructor within the GFA’s technical team, is overseeing the training. His guidance is expected to ensure that participants gain a solid foundation as they begin their coaching journeys. Under his leadership, the course promises to be impactful, interactive, and aligned with modern coaching standards.

The Volta Regional Football Association has welcomed the commencement of the course, emphasizing its importance to the development of youth football in the region. The participating coaches will, upon successful completion, be awarded the CAF/GFA Licence D Certificate, qualifying them to coach officially at the juvenile level.

The GFA remains committed to raising coaching standards and supporting talent development from the grassroots. The Volta Region’s edition of the Licence D Course is yet another key step in creating a sustainable pipeline of qualified coaches to guide the next generation of Ghanaian footballers.
