The just-ended Elite U15 Boys Colts Championship produced breathtaking football, dazzling talents, and unforgettable drama, capped by Northern Region’s penalty shootout triumph over Ashanti Region in the grand finale. As part of the curtain call, the tournament’s Best XI has been officially unveiled, highlighting the standout performers who left an indelible mark on the competition.

In goal, Asumadu Michael of the GFA Elite Academy Kumasi takes the gloves after a string of commanding displays. His shot-stopping ability, agility, and leadership from the back made him one of the tournament’s most consistent performers. Protecting him in defense are Jeffrey Mensah Junior (RB, Ashanti Region), Oppong Richard (LB, Greater Accra), Kingsley Avorka (CB, Ashanti Region), and Alhassan Sulemana (CB, Northern Region). Together, this backline combines speed, strength, and composure, embodying the defensive excellence that defined much of the championship.

The midfield is anchored by Abubakar Kamil who was captain of the Northern Region, and whose ability to shield the defense and dictate play made him a key figure in his team’s championship-winning run. Ahead of him, creativity and flair are supplied by Ayimbila Richmond advanced midfielder,  for the Upper East Region and the versatile Nomo Owen who could play as a winger, central midfielder and a second striker for the Eastern Region. Both players thrilled fans with their vision, technical brilliance, and ability to turn games in their teams’ favor.

On the wings, the team boasts raw pace and direct attacking firepower. Duah Dennis of Elite Academy Kumasi lit up the competition with his blistering runs and incisive play, while Shamsudeen Sulemana of Northern Region, the hero of the final, proved unplayable with his dribbling and eye for goal. Sulemana’s decisive strike in the championship match was the crowning moment of his stellar campaign.

Leading the line is Benjamin Owusu Ansah of Ashanti Region, a clinical striker whose goalscoring instincts and relentless pressing made him one of the most feared attackers in the tournament. His partnership with Sulemana and Dennis provided some of the most electrifying attacking sequences of the competition.

The Elite U15 Boys Colts Best XI is a true reflection of the talent spread across Ghana’s regions, with players from Ashanti, Northern, Greater Accra, Eastern, Upper East, and the GFA Elite Academy Kumasi all represented. The team not only celebrates individual brilliance but also showcases the depth of quality emerging from grassroots football in the country.
