Bayern Munich have reportedly identified Bradley Barcola and Nico Williams as potential transfer targets this summer, according to Goal (via Sky Sport).

Following a memorable campaign with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Barcola has thrust himself into the radar of some top European clubs, including Chelsea. They pursued him in 2023 and could come knocking for his services again this summer in the event of Jadon Sancho’s departure.

The 22-year-old winger proved his mettle with 21 goals and 19 assists across all competitions in the 2024-25 season, while lifting a European treble of Ligue 1, French Cup and the Champions League.

Now, he’s apparently at the top of Bayern’s list of targets as the Bundesliga champions are looking to rope in a left winger to amp up their squad.

PSG, though, are likely to demand a hefty fee before letting Barcola leave the Parc des Princes, given his age and promising qualities.

Should the Bavarians fail to materialize a deal for the player, they will reportedly consider Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams as an alternative, another Chelsea target.

The Spaniard was a key member of La Roja’s Euro 2024 triumph last year, even netting their opening goal against England in the final, while also scoring twice in their recent Nations League campaign.

Bilbao have set a release clause of €60 million in his contract, although it’s his wage demand of €7-8 million per year that could be a stumbling block in the negotiations.

But Sky Sport Germany has also reported that any move involving these players also depends on the decision of Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman, whose futures at the club are uncertain right now.

In addition to Barcola and Williams, Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl is also monitoring Brighton star Kaoru Mitoma, AC Milan ace Rafael Leao and Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo.

With the 2024-25 season done and dusted, Chelsea are now eyeing the Club World Cup glory. The London side qualified as the winner of the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League winners and will begin their campaign against Leon on Monday, June 16.

Flamengo and ES Tunis are in Group D along with them in what seems like a straightforward draw for the Blues, who should be able to progress into the knockout stages without much hassle.

However, they could face a stern test later on into the tournament, as European heavyweights Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City are participating too. Reigning European champions PSG are in the race too, along with Atletico Madrid and Juventus.
