Das played his last match for Essex just two days before the charge was announced, turning out in a One-Day Cup fixture against Middlesex on July 21, 2026. He made his Essex debut in 2020 and has accumulated nine first-class appearances for the county across his career.

Essex confirmed it had been in communication with the England and Wales Cricket Board, the Professional Cricketers’ Association and the Cricket Regulator throughout the process.
