Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has been named a member of the Management Committee of the Black Galaxies (CHAN team), bringing his rich international experience and leadership to the national setup.

Badu, who served as deputy captain of the Black Stars, enjoyed a distinguished career with the senior national team, earning 78 international caps. He was instrumental in Ghana’s historic 2009 U-20 AFCON and FIFA U-20 World Cup triumph, famously scoring the decisive winning goal in the World Cup final that secured the title for Ghana. Badu also represented the Black Stars at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and featured in five Africa Cup of Nations tournaments (2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2017).

The new committee will be chaired by Kingsley Osei Bonsu, a member of the Executive Council and CEO of Bechem United, with Daniel Agboga, Chairman of the Volta Regional Football Association, serving as Vice Chairman. The lineup also includes seasoned administrators such as Michael Kofi Oduro, CEO of Na-God FC, and Daniel Asante of Wamanafo Mighty Royals.

Badu’s inclusion is expected to boost the committee with first-hand knowledge of international football and player development, qualities seen as crucial to the success of the Black Galaxies. His journey from youth football to the pinnacle of the game makes him a valuable asset in shaping Ghana’s domestic-based national team.

The committee has been tasked with overseeing the strategic direction, welfare, and competitive readiness of the Black Galaxies as they prepare for future continental assignments.

With a blend of administrative expertise and football experience, the newly formed management team is expected to provide the right foundation for the Black Galaxies to thrive on the African stage.
