The Blues hunt for a new striker continues on the transfer market. The Blues have made very big money moves to solve their No.9 problem and have got mixed results. With Oliver Giroud the issue was solved through his presence where the team won the UEFA Champions League. But after he left the club has again been facing the same issue. Under Maresca the Blues are actively looking for new options with players like Nkunku set to leave and eyes on players like Delap. The Blues have now set their eyes on Hugo Ekitike. The talented young French forward currently in the ranks of German side Eintracht Frankfurt. Who is on a loan move from French side Paris Saint German in 2025. With the Blues currently facing problems in their attacking final finishing. Can Ekitike be the main man to boss the Blues centre forward position for the next season?

🚨Chelsea currently lead Liverpool in the race to sign forward Hugo Ekitike.

The player first came into the eyes of many fans and teams in Ligue 1 for Reims. Which saw him being compared to the young Kylian Mbappe due to his speed, movements and fearless attacking style. At the age just 22 years old the French men has a ride of highs and lows in his footballing career. Where he made a move to the Paris Saint German in 2022. Where he faced disappointment and was benched most of the time which saw him loaned out. In this season of 2024-25 he has scored a total of 13 goals and total of 4 assists in the German League. With a massive height of 6’2″ he has big aerial presence with speed and dribbling making him a treat at the attack. His ability to find the back of the net and speed makes him one of young prospects.

The Blues overall squad is a young team. With their recent transfer strategy of securing young players. With a vision for long term where the team’s growth is not for a shorter time. Hugo Ekitike fits that plan perfectly for the Blues. A player that is still developing and not so big in the top league. But the Blues have been lacking a young consistent centre forward for a long time now after Giroud. Currently players like Nicolas Jackson and Nkunku having been delivering but lack consistency over a longer period. The Stamford Bridge fans now look for a perfect striker like Torres. With Ekitike it offers different a player who is young a filled with potential. Under Maresca if he has a perfect stage with time he perfectly deliver. But in this case the guarantee of instant success is not possible.

While the Blues are eyeing to get the player. Frankfurt are also keen to get the player to get Ekitike after a strong season with them. While PSG have still a clause to retain him. Anyways the minimum for him would be likely between €30–€40 million for the Blues which is less compare to others deals in the market.

The Blues interest in Ekitike is not a surprise as the Blues have recently kept eyes for the young players in the market. After winning the UEFA Conference League the Blues would like to address this issue as they would also like to win the Premier League and compete for the Champions League. This move could be very benefiting as a good environment and stage for the player can define the success the player can get while potentially making this move.
