The draw for the preliminary stage of the 2025–26 MTN FA Cup will take place at the Football Association headquarters in Accra on Thursday, October 9, 2025.

A total of ninety-two (92) clubs drawn from the Division One and Division Two Leagues will learn their opponents as they begin their journey in this season’s prestigious knockout competition. The teams have been grouped according to zones and geographical proximity to ensure balanced and competitive fixtures across the country.

The preliminary round matches are scheduled to be played over the weekend of October 24–27, 2025. Winners from this stage will advance to join the 18 Premier League clubs in the Round of 64, where the competition is expected to intensify as lower-tier clubs aim to test their strength against the nation’s elite sides.

The MTN FA Cup continues to serve as a key platform for showcasing local talent and fostering competitive football across all tiers of the Ghanaian league structure. Over the years, the tournament has produced memorable upsets, dramatic encounters and inspiring stories from clubs across the country.

Asante Kotoko enter the new season as defending champions, following their triumph over Division One League side Golden Kick FC in last season’s final.

The stage is now set for another exciting chapter in Ghana’s oldest football knockout competition, as clubs from every corner of the country prepare to chase glory in the 2025–26 MTN FA Cup.
