Tommy Edman will miss at least another week as the Dodgers infielder/outfielder was placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday with right ankle Inflammation. Hyeseong Kim was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Edman suffered the injury running the bases during Tuesday’s game against the Marlins at Dodger Stadium. He was held out of the lineup for the homestand finale on Wednesday, then after a travel day didn’t play on Friday either.

Dave Roberts told reporters in Atlanta before Friday’s game that the team was waiting to see how Edman’s ankle responded to going through pregame drills.

Dave Roberts said the Dodgers want to see how Tommy Edman comes through some pregame drills today before making a decision on tomorrow

The IL move is retroactive to Wednesday. Edman’s earliest day eligible to return is next Saturday, May 10.

With Andy Pages getting the bulk of the time in center field, Edman has started 22 games at second base this season compared to seven in center field. Kiké Hernández started at second base on Wednesday, and Miguel Rojas got the call at second on Friday.

Chris Taylor starts at second base for the Dodgers on Saturday.

Kim with Oklahoma City has roamed the middle defensively, with 12 starts at shortstop, nine in center field, and seven at second base. At the plate, Kim is hitting .252/.328/.470 with a 105 wRC+, five home runs, eight doubles, and a triple, and he stole 13 bases without getting caught in his 28 games.

Signed to a three-year, $12.5 million contract by the Dodgers in January, the former KBO stalwart when he gets into a game will make his major league debut.
