Zone One B leaders Debibi United FC delivered a dominant performance as they thrashed bottom-placed Legon Cities FC 5-0 away on Saturday at the Ohene Ameyaw Park, strengthening their push for top-flight promotion. Collins Osew Agyei scored a first-half brace in the 22nd and 45th minutes to give the visitors a comfortable two-goal lead at the break. Ibrahim Alhassan extended the advantage just a minute into the second half, before Dauda Yahaya Sadam added the fourth goal in the 71st minute. Clement Nketia sealed the emphatic victory in stoppage time. Debibi United now sit on an impressive 53 points from 22 matches.
Meanwhile, Real Tamale United kept pace with city rivals Tamale City FC in the Zone One A title race after recording their 12th win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Yapei FC at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium. Opoku Ampofo’s 43rd-minute own goal handed Real Tamale United the lead before Derrick Asiedu wrapped up the win with an 83rd-minute strike. The Tamale lads have 42 points from 22 matches.
Leaders Tamale City FC failed to extend their lead at the top of the Zone One A table after being held to a 1-1 draw by relegation-threatened TF Exponential. After a goalless first half, Sammy Osae Akoto broke the deadlock for Tamale City in the 64th minute. However, Prince Acquah responded just four minutes later with a superb finish to earn TF Exponential a share of the points. Tamale City FC have now accumulated 42 points from 22 matches.
