The Delhi Capitals (DC) will look to build on their home advantage when they take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 35 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on Saturday, April 25.

DC have endured a mixed campaign so far, registering three wins and three losses in their six matches. Led by Axar Patel, the side has shown glimpses of its potential but has struggled to maintain consistency across departments. Their batting unit has delivered in patches, while the bowling attack has been effective at times but lacks the finishing touch in crunch moments. With another game at home, DC will be eager to find momentum and climb up the points table.

On the other hand, Punjab Kings have been the standout team of the season so far. Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, PBKS have looked like a well-oiled unit, remaining unbeaten so far. Their batting has been explosive, highlighted by consistent contributions from players like Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly. Sitting comfortably at the top of the table, PBKS will aim to extend their dominant run.

With DC aiming to rediscover consistency and PBKS riding high on confidence, this clash promises to be an exciting contest.

Arun Jaitley Stadium Pitch Report

The pitch at the iconic venue at Delhi remains one of the best batting tracks in India, with short boundaries favouring the batters even more. But the game between DC and PBKS is scheduled to play in the afternoon, so there might be some assistance for the spinners from the pitch. The stadium has hosted two matches in IPL 2026, and both were fairly high-scoring.

DC vs PBKS Strategies and Match-ups

The Punjab Kings, led by Shreyas Iyer, is by far the strongest team so far, winning five of their first six matches, and are unbeaten. With a strong Indian core and overseas T20 specialists, the team has emerged as a strong title contender this season.

Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, are still trying to find the right balance. They are coming off a thumping 47-run loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad, and would want to come back to winning ways in this home clash. A win against table toppers might give them immense confidence going forward.

DC will try to get PBKS’ in-form top-order out cheaply, to have a crack at the yet to be tested middle-order of Shreyas Iyer side. Players like Priyansh Arya, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Tristan Stubbs can emerge as match-winners in this contest.
