Coach Education Department Adopts Online Learning and Examination System
SHARE

The Technical Department has taken a significant step towards modernising its coach education program with the adoption of a new online learning and examination system — the GFA Learning Portal — marking a bold shift in how the association delivers and assesses coaching knowledge across the country.

The initiative, championed by the Technical Director, Prof. Joseph Kwame Mintah, and implemented by the Head of Performance Analysis, Edward Gyamfi-Acheampong, was launched during the ongoing second batch of the CAF License B Coaching Course, currently taking place at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence (GSCE) in Prampram.

The introduction of the GFA Learning Portal, a system developed by Cyclux Consult, represents a deliberate effort by the association to align its coach education delivery with modern digital standards, ensuring that learning materials and examinations are more accessible, efficient, and standardised for coaches across Ghana.

Speaking on the development, Prof. Joseph Mintah underscored the GFA’s commitment to building a new generation of technically sound coaches through innovative means. The Technical Director noted that the future of football development in Ghana must be underpinned by structured, quality education, and that digital tools are central to achieving that vision.

Edward Gyamfi-Acheampong, who oversaw the technical implementation of the portal, ensured that the system was fully operational and ready for use by the License B course participants. His work in deploying the platform reflects the association’s growing emphasis on leveraging technology within its performance and education departments.

The GFA Learning Portal allows coaches to access course materials online, engage with structured learning content, and complete examinations digitally — reducing reliance on traditional paper-based methods while broadening access for participants from across the country.

The second batch of the CAF License B Coaching Course serves as the maiden deployment of the new system, with course participants among the first cohort of Ghanaian coaches to experience this modernized approach to football education.

This development is expected to set a new benchmark for coach education delivery within the GFA, with the association signaling its intention to roll out the platform across future licensing courses at various levels.

The GFA continues to demonstrate its resolve to develop technically competent coaches who are equipped to raise the standard of football from the grassroots to the elite level in Ghana.
