The “CSK Dencoming” series has grown into a much-awaited tradition. The concept marks the arrival of players in Chennai for pre-season preparations. MS Dhoni unlikely to play all matches in IPL 2026
Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad plays a guiding newcomers through a fictional operation at the CSK base. The suspense peaks when the jerseys are found missing, culminating in the reveal of the iconic No. 7 shirt of MS Dhoni. The moment sparked widespread excitement, with fans celebrating the continued presence of ‘Thala’ in yellow. Meanwhile, the 44-year-old icon was spotted at the airport in a simple maroon T-shirt. Unlike last year’s cryptic “One Last Time” message that had stirred retirement speculation, this time Dhoni let his presence do the talking. The CSK pre-season camp commenced on March 1 at the franchise’s high-performance centre, with CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirming Dhoni’s participation from day one. Around 15 Indian players are expected to attend initially, while those involved in international commitments will join later.
