President of the Confederation of African Football, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, has congratulated the President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku and the Football Association following Ghana’s triumph at the CAF African Schools Football Championship in Zimbabwe.

In a letter personally signed by him, Dr. Motsepe commended the leadership of President Kurt Okraku and praised the impressive achievement of Ghana’s U15 Girls’ team, for successfully defending their continental title.

Ghana secured the championship after a dramatic final against Burkina Faso, with the Black Damsels winning 9–8 on penalties following a pulsating goalless draw at the end of regulation time. The intense shootout victory crowned Ghana as champions for the second consecutive time.

Dr. Motsepe described the achievement as remarkable and attributed the success to the talent and discipline of the players as well as the leadership guiding football development in Ghana.

“This remarkable achievement is a testament to their talent, discipline and determination and to your excellent leadership,” the CAF President stated in his message to Simeon-Okraku.

The victory confirms the Black Damsels as back-to-back champions of the CAF African Schools Football Championship, underlining their dominance and consistency at the continental schools level.

Throughout the tournament, the young Ghanaian girls displayed resilience, determination and remarkable mental strength, qualities that ultimately powered them to another historic triumph and further highlighted the promising future of women’s football in Ghana.
