Bruno Fernandes may have to play in a position that isn’t ideal for him to help Manchester United avoid conceding goals, explains Gary Neville

Pundit Gary Neville has suggested a change in tactics to help Manchester United not concede goals. However, the club’s talismanic skipper Bruno Fernandes would have to settle for a new role if it is implemented.

Michael Carrick has favoured a 4-2-3-1 formation since taking charge at Old Trafford in January 2026. Bruno Fernandes has been their best player by some distance since switching to his favoured number ten position.
