Ghana will conclude their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign against Comoros on Sunday, October 12, 2025, having embarked on an exciting journey that has yielded 6 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw from 8 matches.

After playing 8 matches in Group I, the team has accumulated 19 points, solidifying their top spot in the group.

Ghana’s campaign began with a thrilling win against Madagascar at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, setting the tone for a remarkable run. However, their first loss came against Comoros, a 1-0 defeat that served as a wake-up call for the team.

The Black Stars bounced back with a hard-fought 2-1 win against Mali in Bamako, courtesy of a late goal from captain Jordan Ayew. Ghana continued with another gritty display against the Central African Republic, securing a 4-3 win in Kumasi to maintain a firm grip on Group I in June 2024. Jordan Ayew made headlines again after scoring a hat-trick, while Abdul Fatawu Issahaku added the fourth goal to seal the victory.

A decisive strike from Alexander Djiku in the 49th minute lifted the team to 19 points after a closely contested match against Mali. The team had dropped valuable points in N’djamena in a Matchday 7 fixture against Chad despite winning 5-0 in the reverse encounter in Accra.

This 5-0 win over Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium showcased the team’s attacking prowess, with Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Salisu, and Ernest Nuamah all getting on the scoresheet.

The Black Stars continued their winning ways, defeating Madagascar 3-0 in an away match, further solidifying their position at the top of the group.

Throughout their 8 matches, the team has demonstrated resilience and determination, adapting and overcoming challenges along the way. With 6 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss, they’ve shown they have what it takes to compete at the highest level.

As they head into the final stretch, the Black Stars will face crucial matches against Central African Republic and Comoros. Coach Otto Addo and his team will look to maintain their momentum and secure a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The journey hasn’t been easy, but the Black Stars have consistently shown they possess the talent, determination, and spirit to succeed.

With the support of their fans and the entire nation, the team is poised to strive for their fifth World Cup appearance in Mexico, Canada, and the United States of America, aiming to make Ghana proud and bring glory to the country.
