The Black Starlets intensified preparations on Tuesday ahead of their opening Group D encounter against Algeria at the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Rabat.

The team held another intense training session under the supervision of Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum and his technical staff as focus firmly shifts to the crucial opener against the North Africans.

Training lasted for an hour and a half, with the coaches placing emphasis on tactical organization, pressing, movement off the ball, and finishing in the final third. The players showed sharpness and determination throughout the session as competition for places in the starting lineup continued to intensify.

Dr. Ogum and his assistants also spent time working on defensive shape and transitions, while goalkeepers went through specialized drills with the goalkeeping trainers.

The atmosphere within camp remains positive, with the players displaying high levels of confidence and togetherness ahead of the start of the tournament.

Having arrived in Rabat earlier this week after completing their pre-tournament camping in Mohammedia, the Black Starlets are now fully settled and adapting well to their new environment.

Ghana will be aiming to begin the tournament strongly when they take on Algeria in what is expected to be a highly competitive Group D clash.

The Black Starlets are seeking not only a successful AFCON campaign but also qualification to the FIFA U17 World Cup later this year.
