Black Starlets off to Morocco for U-17 AFCON Tournament

The Black Starlets have departed Accra for Morocco ahead of the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), with renewed determination to reassert their dominance on the continental stage. The team left the country on Wednesday morning, carrying the hopes of a nation eager to see a return to glory at youth level.

The contingent, made up of players and officials, is expected to intensify preparations upon arrival as they fine-tune strategies for the tournament.

The technical team has expressed confidence in the squad’s readiness, following weeks of rigorous training and friendly matches aimed at sharpening the team’s competitive edge.

At the point of departure, President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku was present to offer words of encouragement, urging the players to remain focused and disciplined throughout the competition.
