The Black Starlets continued their build-up to the WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship with a competitive 1–1 draw against Division One League side Golden Kick FC in a friendly encounter.

Golden Kicks made a bright start and took the lead in the first half with a well-taken goal that tested the resolve of the young national team. The Starlets, however, responded swiftly as Gavi Yao Robinho found the equaliser before halftime to bring the game level.

Both sides pushed for a winner after the break, but resolute defending and missed chances kept the scoreline unchanged until the final whistle. The result adds to the Starlets’ growing list of preparatory games as they sharpen their squad for the regional tournament.

The Black Starlets will continue their training camp with more test matches lined up in the coming days as they gear up for the WAFU U-17 Championship in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast, which also serves as the qualifiers for the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
