Black Princesses Head Coach, Charles Sampson, gives updates on the team as they prepare to face Tunisia in the second-round qualifier for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

The team has been training at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, and Head Coach Charles Sampson believes his team is ready for the task ahead.

“We’ve been in camp training for some time, but we’re lacking some players in camp. About three of our players are with the Police team, and two more players haven’t joined us yet. But so far, those that are in camp have been cooperating well, and we’ve been going step by step forward. So, it’s looking good” he said.

”We’ve been playing a bit slow-paced game, and we wanted a game that would push us a bit physically and also with speed. So, playing with the boys today gave us exactly what we were looking for when we face Tunisia in a couple of weeks”.

”We have been psyching the girls towards the game against Tunisia, and I think we’re prepared. We’ve assessed them and watched some of their games. We have different scenarios we’ve been working towards, and everyone is cooperating”.

”Our goal is also to take the Princesses to the World Cup, and then we take it a step at a time. So, right now, our focus is just on Tunisia, and then, by His grace, we go step by step. We’re trying to get an identity, and we think that we’re on that path”.

”Ghanaians can expect good football, can expect offensive football, can expect aggressive football, football that we can dominate and dictate the pace of the game. Those are the values that we’re installing in the team”.

“Sanai Sereboe just came to join us a week ago. She’s now getting into the rhythm, and also the girls are trying to know her more. So, she needs a little bit of time to come in well” Charles Sampson added.

The Black Princesses will begin their U-20 World Cup qualifiers against Tunisia in Tunis on September 20, 2025, before hosting them in the return leg in Accra on September 28, 2025.
