Barcelona are reportedly considering signing PSV Eindhoven star Ivan Perisic on a free transfer this summer. Perisic has previously worked under Hansi Flick during his time at Bayern Munich as a loanee between 2019 and 2020.
Ivan Perisic joined Bayern as a loanee from Inter Milan for one season (2019-20) while Hansi Flick was in charge. The duo together won the treble, including the UEFA Champions League, the Bundesliga, and the DFB-Pokal in that season. In the last season, Perisic also won the Eredivisie with PSV Eindhoven, with his contract ending on June 30, 2025.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are eyeing a free transfer for Ivan Perisic this summer to reunite him with Hansi Flick. The Catalans believe the Croatian’s salary will also not be a problem for them. Perisic reportedly wants to be in the best form ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and would be open to a potential move as well.
The aforementioned report also suggests that Hansi Flick is keen on reuniting with Ivan Perisic, especially due to his versatility. The Croatian can play in all three attacking positions and is known for his professionalism despite being 36. Flick believes Perisic’s arrival will increase competition for Barcelona’s starting line-up and push everyone to do better.
Ivan Perisic has had a decent season with Eindhoven, recording 16 goals and 11 assists in 39 outings across competitions. His signature could also allow players like Raphinha and Lamine Yamal to rest for some games, unlike last season. Meanwhile, Barcelona has also been linked to attackers like Luis Diaz and Marcus Rashford to reinforce their left wing this summer.
According to SPORT (h/t Barca Universal), Barcelona sporting director Deco is set to speed up the exit of five players this summer. Given the Catalans’ financial situation, such exits are essential for them to make new signings for next season.
The list of players set to leave Camp Nou includes Ansu Fati, Oriol Romeu, Pablo Torre, Pau Victor, and Gerard Martin. La Masia graduate Ansu Fati is reportedly set to join Monaco on a loan deal with an option to buy. Oriol Romeu returned to Barcelona after his loan spell at Girona, but is not a part of Flick’s plans for next season.
Deco is also looking into the situations of Pablo Torre and Pau Victor, both of whom are seeking an exit due to a lack of regular game time. The two youngsters have proven themselves when they’ve had a chance to play, but Flick has multiple other options for their respective options for now.
Finally, Gerard Martin has been crucial for Barca in the absence of their regular starting left-back, Alejandro Balde. Flick reportedly feels he has more potential, but a final decision about his future will be made after the U21 Euros.
