Barcelona will reportedly listen to offers for versatile attacker Ferran Torres this summer under only one condition. As reported by Diario Sport, they will only entertain offers for the Spaniard if he wishes to leave the club.
Ferran Torres has been a solid squad player for the Catalan giants since joining the club from Manchester City in 2020. He cost Barcelona €55 million but has not been able to secure a regular place for himself in the starting XI.
The Spain international has been linked with an exit from Camp Nou over the last couple of seasons. However, Barca’s stance on Torres has seemingly changed following an impressive season for the 25-year-old.
Despite not being a regular starter, Torres played an influential role behind Hansi Flick’s side’s success last season. He scored 19 goals and provided seven assists despite playing only 1921 minutes of football across competitions in the last campaign.
It has been claimed that Torres is unlikely to demand a transfer in the summer and is happy to fight for a place. However, his status as a squad player is unlikely to change, especially with Barcelona eyeing a new left winger.
Torres has made 158 appearances for Barca so far, scoring 44 times while producing 20 assists. He has been capped 49 times for Spain and has contributed with 21 goals and five assists.
Arsenal and Bayern Munich target Nico Williams has reportedly told Barcelona star Lamine Yamal that he wants to join Hansi Flick’s side. As reported by Spanish outlet SPORT via GOAL, he has told Barca players in the Spain national side that he wishes to join them this summer.
Williams has reportedly sent a message to Lamine Yamal and other Barcelona players like Pau Cubarsi, Fermin Lopez, and Pedri, which read:
Barca have been chasing Williams for a while now and were close to landing him last summer. However, they could not afford his €62m release clause back then.
The 22-year-old has reportedly also attracted interest from Bayern Munich and Arsenal. However, he reportedly has no intention of leaving Spain and only wants a Barca move.
Williams came through Athletic Bilbao’s youth ranks and has made 167 senior appearances for the club, contributing with 30 goals and 31 assists. He shares a great bond with Lamine Yamal, and the two played a key role in helping Spain win the Euro 2024.
Snehanjan developed an interest in football at a very young age, thanks to his father watching football on TV. His favorite player is club legend Steven Gerrard and his favorite manager is another legend in Jurgen Klopp. The ‘Miracle of Istanbul’ i.e., Liverpool beating AC Milan in the 2005 UEFA Champions League final left an indelible mark on him. He believes that Liverpool is a family unlike other top clubs, which sets them apart.
Snehanjan also follows Indian Super League and the I-League, although the latter is closer to his heart. If he could change a rule in football, it would be VAR not pointing out mistakes of on-field officials unless they are clear and obvious errors. Outside the football world, Snehanjan likes to explore the various genres of music and watch movies and shows on OTT. He’s also a car enthusiast and likes to follow the automobile world.
