Laporte is a proven defender with a ton of experience from all the top leagues of the world. It can be seen in his time at Manchester City where he won multiple Premier League titles under Pep. He is known to be a mature and experienced player on the pitch. His ability to play out from the back makes him a perfect fit for each team, he plays for. So he can a potential good addition to Mikel Arteta’s side looking for additions in their squad. In their time at City, he was an important part of their squad which was known to dominate Europe during that time. In his time in Al Nassr, he also leads their defense from the back. Playing almost in every one of their league and continental competitions. This experience would help the Gunners with their ability for their squad.

With already many injuries and regular suspensions. Along with the doubts of players like Zinchenko, Partey to continue and several of the players exiting the squad. The Gunners are active in the market looking for possible new replacements to add depth to their squad for the next season. With the already present strong partnership of William Saliba and Gabriel. But the quality of the backup remains a critical point for the Gunners. Especially as the club looks and prepares itself for another season of European football. With top level experience and leadership qualities on and off the pitch, he can be an important potential piece for the Gunners.

Since moving from England to Saudi Arabia in 2023. In Al Nassr Laporte has appeared regularly for the side but reportedly misses the competitive nature of European football. But Al Nassr is ready to let the player leaves if they get an offer between the asking price in the region of €20-25m.

Arsenal may not be the only team that is interested in Laporte. Along with Arsenal, Aston Villa have also asked about the situation of the player.  But sources have informed about the interest from Marseille, Inter Milan, Napoli, and his former club Athletic Bilbao.

Aymeric Laporte can be a smart potential signing for the Gunners. He will not only bring his experience to the table but bring his leadership qualities that can add good value to the team. Currently 31 years of age he is still in his prime numbers to provide to any team. Not only that this can help the Gunners add proper backup for their defensive shape in case of any injuries or suspension. But the amount of game time can be a major issue in this potential deal.
