Manchester United legend Paul Scholes named summer signing Jordan Henderson as one player Chelsea shouldn’t start with. The former Liverpool captain arrived at Stamford Bridge this summer on a free transfer.
With Moises Caicedo unavailable due to a calf injury, head coach Xabi Alonso was forced to hand a full debut to Henderson, who played alongside Valentin Barco against Brentford in the Premier League last weekend. However, the pair struggled as the Blues fell to a 3-0 defeat, with all three goals coming after the hour mark.
