The much-anticipated semi-finals of the Ashanti Regional Inter-District Colts Festival are set to kick off today, Friday, July 11, at the Alignment Astroturf in Sofoline. Four outstanding teams—Ejura Sekyeredumase District, Kwabre East District, Asante Akim District, and Tafo Municipal—will battle for a place in the final later in the day.

In the first semi-final clash, high-flying Kwabre East District will lock horns with tournament dark horses Ejura Sekyeredumase. Kwabre East have impressed with their attacking prowess, having already netted five goals in two matches, and are tipped as strong contenders for the title. Ejura Sekyeredumase, however, will be aiming to pull off an upset and book a historic place in the final.

The second semi-final will see Asante Akim District face Tafo Municipal in what promises to be a tightly contested encounter. Both teams have shown grit and tactical discipline throughout the competition, and Friday’s showdown could be decided by a single moment of brilliance or resilience.

All matches will be played at the Alignment Astroturf, which has hosted the entire festival and provided a professional environment for these budding talents to shine. The final match of the tournament will be played later on Friday, immediately following the semi-final games.

This year’s festival has been a celebration of grassroots football development in the Ashanti Region, with scouts, coaches, and football enthusiasts paying close attention to the rising stars. As the tournament nears its climax, excitement continues to build for what promises to be a thrilling end to a remarkable competition.
