Arsenal eye Chelsea young midfielder Andrey Santos

The Gunners are interested in signing the Blues Brazilian midfielder. The 21 year young Brazilian midfielder of Blues, Andrey Santos is currently under the interest of the Gunners. The young midfielder currently in a loan spell to Ligue 1 French side Strasbourg. Santos has been performing brilliantly in his loan spell in France. In Ligue 1 playing for the side Strasbourg. Delivering important goals and assists along with creating goal scoring chances with his impressive vision for passing. Due to this performance of his he has achieved quite a few eyes this season ahead of the transfer window. Top teams from Europe have been interested in the player in order to secure his services. Along with team like Arsenal European giants from other sides like Paris Saint German and AC Milan. With the Gunners looking to make their mid line stronger with new signings, Santos makes for an promising player.

Santos started his professional senior team career at Vasco da Gama in Brazil making his debut at just the age of 16 years. Due to his good performance with the Brazilian side he made a move to the Blues in 2023 with just fee of €20 million in the 2023 transfer window. But did not make any first team appearance for the Blues under manager Graham Potter and Enzo Maresca. He was on a series of loan spells first at the Premier League Nottingham forest and then to French side Strasbourg. The player is currently performing outstandingly at the Ligue 1 scoring a total of 11 goals and providing 3 assists with a total of 34 appearances for the French side in the domestic League. He even captained the side in several occasions leading them from the front getting praise from the club’s manager.

With the Gunners recent interest in young players for their squad who can help the team to grow and develop for future. With the possible exit of midfielder from Gunners squad like Thomas Partey and Jorginho in the coming summer. Gunners are in need of new players to hold the midline along with experience. Santos ability to play both as defensive midfielder an as attacking midfielder makes him a perfect player to fit Arteta system. His current style of play with good positioning, strong defending and forward passes fits the current system the Gunners follow.

While the Gunners are interested in securing him for next season. They face competition from other European giants like Paris Saint German who attempted to sign him in the 2023. The Spurs and the Magpies are the other interested club from the Premier clubs along with the Gunners. The Blues are open to selling him at around a fee of €45–50 million. But the players desire to play regularly and be in the starting line up will play an important role in the potential transfer.

With the Gunners looking to add Santos to their squad for building a squad. With enough back up to compete at the highest level of the game of football. While the transfer fee is a bit higher for such a young player. It can be a beneficial one given the performance given by the player currently in the French League.
