Interim Manchester United manager Darren Fletcher gave no indications about how long he could stay at the club after serving his role in the game against Burnley at Old Trafford on Wednesday. The 41-year-old said that he was only focussing on managing United in the Burnley game before looking ahead. “Honestly, it is not what I have thought about. Focusing on Burnley, that discussion is for after the game. It has all happened so quickly, so all my concentration is on Burnley. I know it is a generic answer, but it is what it is, yeah”. “Focus on this game and then speak after the game. It all happened very quickly on Monday with a game to prepare and a quick turnaround, training session to organise, and speak to the players. The focus is on the Burnley game as I think that we give the Burnley match the respect and focus it deserves to prepare the team in such a short space of time,” the former midfielder said at the pre-match press conference. (AP Photo) Numerous speculations have done the rounds about the possible return of former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in an interim capacity for the rest of the season. The hierarchy is reportedly considering appointing an interim manager before looking to fill someone in a permanent position in the summer. Fletcher’s appointment as United’s interim manager comes a few days after Ruben Amorim was sacked by the club, following the team’s 1-1 draw against Leeds United at Elland Road. Fletcher, who is serving as United’s Under-18 manager, also did not disclose if both his sons – Jack and Tyler Fletcher – would be involved in the Burnley fixture. “That would be disclosing team information before the game, and I am not going to do that before the game. They were in the training group on Monday because that was already arranged before I got there. They have been in the squad recently, but obviously, we have got a couple of players back from injury, so we will assess that tomorrow, and we will have to assess a couple of players tomorrow due to the short turnaround from games. They are in the periphery squad, but whether they make the match squad, I don’t know yet; that remains to be seen,” he said.
