Alex Bregman was the subject of massive concern on Sunday, as a foul ball hit him directly in the face while he was standing in the on-deck circle behind home plate, during the Chicago Cubs’ game against the Cincinnati Reds.
He had to immediately leave the game due to a bleeding nose and excessive swelling, and fans have been keenly anticipating updates on the third baseman’s status ever since.
ESPN’s Jeff Passan posted to X on Monday, reporting that Bregman will not have to undergo surgery and a quick return to the field could hence be on the cards.
