Atletico Madrid midfielder Alex Baena has snubbed Kylian Mbappe while naming Lionel Messi, Lamine Yamal, and Rodri as his top three candidates for the 2026 Ballon d’Or award.
The Spaniard joins a long list of players who have commented on the Ballon d’Or race over the last couple of weeks. When asked to name his top three candidates, Baena didn’t hesitate to name Lamine Yamal, Rodri and Lionel Messi, while backing the Barcelona winger to pick up the accolade.
