Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr are targeting Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen for a summer transfer, according to Diario Sport (via Barca Blaugranes). The Knights of Najd are reportedly willing to double Christensen’s €173,077-per-week salary if he agrees to move to the Saudi Pro League.
Barcelona signed Andreas Christensen as a free agent in the summer of 2022 on a four-year deal. The 29-year-old centre-back had a promising first season under Xavi Hernandez, helping the Blaugrana win the LaLiga title and Supercopa De Espana.
Following a drop in form the following year, Christensen was also deployed as a central defensive midfielder. However, the Denmark international was unavailable for most of the 2024-25 season, missing a total of 43 fixtures across all competitions due to an Achilles tendon irritation and muscle injury.
Despite still being valued as an important part of Barcelona’s squad, Christensen would reportedly be allowed to leave due to the club’s financial struggles. As a result, Cristiano Ronaldo-led Al-Nassr are reportedly eyeing a move to sign him to bolster their squad ahead of next season.
Al-Nassr struggled defensively last season, failing to win any silverware. With Aymeric Laporte expected to return to Europe this summer, Christensen’s signing could be the catalyst for Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. to challenge for the Saudi Pro League title.
Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has urged fans and the media to let Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal grow without putting any pressure on him. The 17-year-old has emerged as arguably the most exciting young talent in world football in recent years and is currently one of the favorites to win the Ballon d’Or.
Ronaldo and Yamal are set to face each other on the pitch for the first time when Portugal take on Spain in the UEFA Nations League final later tonight (Sunday, June 8).
Ahead of their clash, Cristiano Ronaldo stated (via News18):
Yamal has excelled for Barcelona this season, recording 18 goals and 25 assists in 55 appearances across all competitions. He has won three trophies this season, including the LaLiga title, and will be aiming to add the Nations League to his resume.
Silas is a Liverpool supporter through and through and admires everything about the club – it’s history, culture, style of play, and all of its iconic players and managers. His favorite player is Steven Gerrard, who was also one of the primary reasons to get interested in football and support Liverpool.
Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Jurgen Klopp, who transformed the Reds from a mid-table club to Premier League champions. Liverpool’s fourth goal in their 4-0 win over Barcelona, scored by Divock Origi after the iconic ‘corner taken quickly’ moment from Trent Alexander-Arnold, holds a special place in Silas’ heart.
